This study aims to analyze the effect of peer tutoring on self-efficacy and freestyle swimming skills among undergraduate students majoring in Physical Education, Health, and Recreation. The research design uses a Matching-Only Posttest-Only Control Group with a sample of 59 students (33 male and 26 female) divided into an experimental group (peer tutoring) and a control group (part and whole method). The study was conducted over 6 weeks, with 2 weeks for the pre-posttest and 4 weeks for the treatment (8 learning sessions). The research instruments were a self-efficacy questionnaire (Likert scale 1-5) and a 25-meter swimming skills test (process-oriented based on rater) that were valid and reliable. Data analysis used MANOVA with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that peer tutoring had a significant effect on freestyle swimming skills (F = 48.397, p < 0.001, d = 0.459), but did not have a significant effect on self-efficacy (p = 0.750). These findings confirm that peer tutoring is effective in improving freestyle swimming technique skills, but that improving self-efficacy requires additional psychological intervention. This study contributes to the development of physical education learning strategies, particularly in overcoming technical barriers to learning swimming.
