Hasyim Hasyim, Sulaeman Sulaeman Copyright (c) 2024 Hasyim Hasyim, Sulaeman Sulaeman http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://performa.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/kepel/article/view/610 Mon, 10 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Correlation of Arm Muscle Power and Flexibility with Shot Put Ability https://performa.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/kepel/article/view/612
This research is a type of quantitative research with a correlational design. The population in this study was all students at SMP Negeri 10 Kendari, totaling 288 people. Based on considerations, the selected population was all male students, totaling 110 people. The sample used in this research was 33 people. Or 30% of the population, namely all existing sons. The sampling technique was carried out using a stratified random sampling technique. The instrument for measuring arm muscle power uses the two-hand medicine ball put test. Measuring the flexibility of the backbone using a sit and reach test and the flexibility of the backbone using an extension dynamometer. The test to measure bullet-rejecting ability is to perform a repulsion starting from the boundary line to where the bullet falls, which is measured in meters. The data analysis technique uses descriptive tests, analysis prerequisite tests, namely normality and linearity tests, as well as hypothesis testing with the help of SPSS 20. The magnitude of the contribution of arm muscle power and flexibility of together to shot put ability is shown by the coefficient of determination r2 x 100% = (0.946)2 x 100% = 89.50%. This can be interpreted as 89.50% of the contribution or variable contribution of arm muscle power and flexibility of the spear to shot put ability.
Jud Jud, Muhammad Rusli, Suhartiwi, sariul, Marsuna Copyright (c) 2024 Jud Jud, Muhammad Rusli, Suhartiwi, sariul, Marsuna http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://performa.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/kepel/article/view/612 Sun, 07 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Lived Experiences of Athletes' Dual Career: A Phenomenological Study https://performa.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/kepel/article/view/606
The study aims to examine to investigate the variables influencing the dual role of student athletes. This qualitative study used a phenomenological research design which examined the needs of student athletes at particular state colleges and universities performing dual roles . The researchers discovered that obstacles that make it difficult for individuals to fulfill their obligations in both athletics and academics are time management, money problems, and internal issues such as parental and teachers support. Policy for counselling interventions among athletes is necessary for development sports program.
Jay Mark D. Sinag, Alonzo L. Mortejo Copyright (c) 2024 Jay Mark D. Sinag, Alonzo L. The research method employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 30 female basketball athletes from Smandala Mutiara with an average age of 16-18 years. Data analysis was conducted using a t-test with a significance level of 5% (0.05). The intervention in this study involved plyometric jump to box training for 6 weeks, conducted three times a week, aimed at improving vertical jump height. Vertical jump height plays a crucial role in every aspect of basketball, both in defense and offense, and enhances players' technical abilities in various on-court situations. Pretest and posttest data were normally distributed as indicated by the Shapiro-Wilk test (pretest: 0.2, posttest: 0.117). The pretest results for vertical jump test yielded a maximum score of 41, a minimum score of 27, and a mean of 35.47, while the posttest data showed a maximum score of 42, a minimum score of 28, and a mean of 36.30, with an average increase of 0.83. This indicates an improvement in vertical jump height before and after the intervention. The t-test result yielded a calculated t-value of 5.000 > t-table value of 2.045, with p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. The percentage increase in average height was 2.3%. The t-test results indicate that plyometric jump to box training significantly influences the improvement of vertical jump height in female basketball athletes from Smandala Mutiara. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. The implication of this research is that plyometric jump to box training affects vertical jump height in female basketball athletes, but the sample size and types of training should be enhanced to further improve athletes' performance.
The research highlights the diverse levels of skill across practitioners, as measured by participant scores (PS). BJJ practitioners excel in ground-based fighting methods, whereas Taekwondo focuses on agility and precise striking. Thematic studies demonstrate that Sambo exhibits flexibility by swiftly shifting between striking and grappling techniques, which is in contrast to Judo's emphasis on strategic balance, leverage, and tactical accuracy. The research clarifies the effectiveness of each discipline in improving the readiness of practitioners for war, highlighting the need to align training methods with particular combat situations and strategic goals. Nevertheless, the presence of constraints such as the size of the sample and the variety of the demography requires careful interpretation of the results
Mudayat Mudayat, Arisman Arisman, Ardo Okilanda, Dede Dwiansyah Putra Copyright (c) 2024 Mudayat Mudayat, Arisman Arisman, Ardo Okilanda, Dede Dwiansyah Putra http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://performa.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/kepel/article/view/661 Tue, 22 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000
